Honoring Hawaiʻi Through the Legacy of the Kings Guard

Aloha and Welcome to the Kings Guard Alumni Association Webpage.
This site is a tribute to the alumni of the Kings Guard found in Kings Alley, Hawaiʻi
It is maintained by Angel Fredeluces, Paul Naki, Willington Leong, Manuel Pulido, and Brian Punzal, and is dedicated to the memory of alumni Mikaele "Mika" Grube who initiated its development in 2008
Who We Are
We are the alumni of the professional performance drill team originally founded as The King’s Alley Royal Honor Guard to promote the King’s Alley Shopping Center in Waikiki, Hawaii.

Kings Alley Shopping Center
In 1972, the King’s Alley Shopping Center opened in Waikiki. Featuring vintage style architecture reminiscent of the Hawaiian Monarchy era, visitors enjoyed a unique turn-of-the century shopping experience.

Exclusive Attraction
The King’s Alley Royal Honor Guard highlighted the old-world theme of the mall. Dressed in uniforms similar to the original Hawaiian Palace Guards, they performed military drills with colonial age rifles that were showcased during nightly Changing of the Guard ceremonies.

Rise of A Legacy
From its inception, the first Generation distinguished the Guard as a high caliber performance team which attracted thousands of visitors to the shopping center.Successive generations continued elevating drill proficiency to increasingly higher expectations, eventually resulting in local, national, and global recognition.

PRESERVING CULTURE OF OLD HAWAIʻI
WITH THE GENERATIONS OF TODAY

Kings Guard Alumni Association
As a Kings Guard the bonds we formed went beyond the drill fields and performance stages. The Kings Guard Alumni Association is an opportunity to reunite with old friends, connect to other generations, preserve our history, and cultivate the legacy weʻve built together.
Hailing all alumni! We welcome you to join us in perpetuating the Pride-
"Once a Kings Guard, Always a Kings Guard".
